🕔 When the Clock Strikes 5 AM: Beauty Goes into Beast Mode
The world is still quiet. The sky is painted in deep hues of navy and indigo. Most people are still lost in their dreams—but I’m wide awake. When the clock strikes 5 AM, beauty goes into beast mode.
I wake up, roll out my mat, and step into the arena. No, this isn’t a performance or a competition. It’s something deeper. This is the sacred ritual of returning to myself. It’s time for me to conquer me.
Each morning I meet myself on the mat—messy bun, sleepy eyes, heart full of hope. Yoga isn't just a workout; it's a work-in. It's not about perfect poses or picture-worthy postures. It's about showing up for yourself. It's about peeling back the layers of ego, doubt, pain, and proving to yourself that you are willing to fight for your own peace.
🧘🏾♀️ Yoga: The Warrior’s Path
Yoga means union—from the Sanskrit root “yuj,” meaning “to yoke” or “to join.” It’s the ancient art of aligning body, mind, and spirit. More than 5,000 years old, yoga originated in India as a deeply spiritual discipline designed to prepare the body and mind for meditation, enlightenment, and liberation (moksha). It was never about touching your toes—it was about touching your soul.
And every asana—every pose—is more than a stretch. It’s a declaration.
A declaration that you are strong enough to hold yourself up.
Soft enough to surrender.
Brave enough to breathe through discomfort.
And wise enough to let go of what no longer serves.
Yoga isn’t about escaping the world—it’s about learning how to stand firm in it, grounded and aware, both beast and beauty.
🔥 Conquering the Self
When I rise before the sun and face myself on the mat, it’s not always graceful. There are days I shake. Days I want to give up. Days when I cry in Savasana. And yet—I return. That’s the battle. Not against the world, but against the part of me that wants to stay the same.
Every warrior knows: discipline is a form of love.
Each pose is a mirror, revealing where I’m stuck, where I’m hiding, and where I still need to grow. Science shows that yoga not only improves strength, flexibility, and balance—but also reduces cortisol (the stress hormone), lowers inflammation, and activates the parasympathetic nervous system—the “rest and digest” mode that helps us truly heal.
So yes, yoga is fierce. It’s fire. It burns away the lies we tell ourselves. But it’s also tenderness. Grace. Forgiveness. And deep, inner peace.
💫 The Dance of Beauty and Beast
In this daily ritual, I’ve discovered something magical: I don’t have to choose. I can be both the beauty and the beast. I can be gentle and strong. Soft and unshakable. I can surrender and stand my ground.
My practice isn’t for show—it’s for soul.
And every time I step off my mat, I’m reborn. Calmer. Clearer. A little more aligned. A little more me.
So here’s to the sacred rebellion of rising early.
To those who fight not to look perfect, but to feel whole.
To the warriors of the mat who know the true game is within.
🧘🏾♀️ Yoga aligns the beauty and the beast within.
And every morning, I rise to meet them both.
